In the open air of Sicily, this retreat brings together three powerful practices — the bioelectric music of plants, the Action Methods of Moreno, the coaching expertise of storytelling. What you hear in the plants, you feel in your body. What moves in your body, becomes story. A week of finding stillness, tuning in and discovering what needs to be given voice.
Listening to plants is an act of intimacy — a meeting between human attention and the electric pulse of living things. From there, voice and body enter the conversation: improvising freely, moving outdoors, finding trust through play. Story is the golden thread — catching what the senses notice, weaving encounters and insights into something that can be shared.
The week culminates with a performance in an cozy theater before a receptive local audience. Each person brings what they have found: a sound, a movement, a story, a gesture and shares it with the group. This finale is a reflection — a reflection of what happens when people slow down enough to truly listen.

FAQ
How did the retreat come about? In November 2025, we offered this retreat for the first time. We met in Sicily and immersed ourselves in a first, playful exploration of the practices that now shape this retreat. What began as an experiment — listening, improvising, moving, and sharing stories together — quickly grew into a vibrant exchange culminating with a live theater performance. The experience continues to resonate and finds its next expression in the June 2026 retreat.
What is plant music? The artist Cassis B. Staudt makes plants "sing." The sound is captured through biodata sonification. The energy (referring to the biochemical processes within the plant) is thus translated into music, set to sound. Electrodes are attached to the plant's leaves for this purpose.
The electrodes transmit electrical impulses from the plant, generated during processes such as photosynthesis, touch, or the application of water. These signals can be processed with pre-produced "notes" via synthesizers, samplers, and other MIDI instruments. The resulting initial musical fragments can then be developed into individual compositions. A wide variety of projects have emerged from this process. See video below.
